If Wix just offered to let an AI agent spend money for your business, start with three settings. Approve every purchase yourself, connect a card used for nothing else, and name one person who approves, plus a backup. That keeps Wix AI agent payments through Stripe inside limits you set.
On October 15, 2026, Wix announced that Symphony by Wix connects to Stripe's Link wallet for agents. In plain terms, the agent can find a purchase, ask you to approve it, and pay for it with a card that works once.
You do not have to turn it on, and you can start with one small purchase. Whether to allow it comes down to who approves, which card is exposed, and who pays if an order is wrong.
Key Takeaways
Symphony shows the merchant, the purchase and the exact total, and you say yes in Link before any payment credential is shared.
Link issues a one-time-use card or token capped at the approved amount, so the agent does not receive your underlying card details.
Stripe's terms say actions started through an AI agent are legally binding on the user, so a wrong order is yours to fix with the merchant first.
Use a card kept for this purpose, one approver and a backup, and one low-value first purchase.
Which three settings should you choose before the first purchase?
Make these choices before the agent asks for anything, because the approval request arrives on your phone and is easy to tap through.
First, pick the payment method. Keep it separate from the card behind payroll, taxes, rent or emergency expenses. Wix's help center lists every payment method saved on an account and explains how to remove old ones, so open that list and clear out what you no longer use: managing your payment methods for Wix services.
Second, decide who approves. Wix says approval can happen from any device through Link, WhatsApp or SMS, within a 10-minute window, per its announcement. Choose a channel somebody watches, and a backup.
Third, decide what the agent may buy. Routine reorders, an invoice you already approved and registration fees are reasonable. Anything that needs negotiation, legal review or an unfamiliar vendor stays with you.

What does Symphony actually ask you to approve?
Each spend request is shown to you before any money moves. Symphony displays the merchant, the purchase and the exact checkout total, and you approve it in Link. A changed total or a new shop means a new approval, per the Wix post on how AI agents pay safely.
Link then issues a one-time-use virtual card or a Shared Payment Token tied to that one transaction. The card is capped at the approved amount, and the agent does not receive your underlying card details.
Wix's examples of what an agent can buy include inventory orders, supplier invoices, business-registration fees, market-entry fees and customer gift cards.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who is the agent | Symphony by Wix |
| Who handles payment | Stripe's Link wallet for agents |
| Who approves | You, for each purchase, in Link, WhatsApp or SMS |
| What the agent receives | A one-time-use card or token, not your card details |
| Spending cap | The approved amount for that purchase |
| Who can use it | Symphony users with a US-based Link account, paying in US dollars |
What are the limits today, and what is still coming?
Today the limit is the purchase itself. Wix describes the current experience as asking for your yes on every single purchase, and each card stops at the amount you approved.
Wix's post also points to a planned change: approving a budget once, with the cap enforced by Link instead of the AI. That is described as a direction, not a feature you can switch on now. If you want a daily or monthly limit today, set it where you already control spending, such as the funding card's own limits with its issuer.
The rollout is also limited. Wix says it is rolling out gradually to Symphony users with a US-based Link account, and payments are in US dollars. Stripe describes the Link wallet for agents as a preview in its Link Agent Wallet terms, updated October 2, 2026.
Who pays when the agent buys the wrong thing?
You do. Stripe's Services Agreement, dated September 28, 2026, says that when a user employs an AI agent, actions initiated or completed by that agent are legally binding on the user. The Link Agent Wallet terms add that the user is responsible for legal compliance, safeguards, human oversight and documentation. You can read both in Stripe's Services Agreement.
So, a wrong or unwanted order is not automatically treated as Stripe's or Wix's mistake. Contact the merchant first and ask for a refund or a correction, and keep the receipt and the approval record.
If a card transaction was unauthorized, defective or not carried out as approved, Stripe's dispute process and card-network rules apply. Stripe can credit a valid dispute, but its terms do not promise one.
That is why the approval screen matters. Read the merchant, the item and the total each time, since the approval is what makes the purchase yours.

How do you test it without risking real money?
Start with one purchase you would make anyway and can afford to lose track of. A box of shipping labels or a small supply reorder works well. Before approving, check that the merchant name, the item and the amount match what you asked for.
After the order, compare three things: the Link transaction record, the merchant's order status and your own note of what you wanted. If any of the three disagrees, pause before the next request.
Then look at who can approve. In Wix Studio, billing and payment-method permissions can be assigned to teammates, and Wix notes that permissions are set separately for each card, so each card has to be changed on its own. Wix explains this in its guide to credit card permissions.
Remove access from anyone who no longer needs it, then review the transaction list again after a week of use.
| What goes wrong | Small fix |
|---|---|
| An approval request is missed | Use a watched channel and name a backup approver |
| Wrong merchant, item or quantity | Narrow the instruction and test with a smaller order |
| The total changes at checkout | Approve the new amount only after reading it |
| Payment status is unclear | Check the order and the Link record before retrying |
| The card is declined or expired | Update the payment method and billing permissions |
| The order arrives wrong | Ask the merchant for a refund or replacement and keep the evidence |
Do you have to pay for Wix AI, and should you use Wix Payments or Stripe?
Many Wix AI tools are free, and some are metered with AI credits. Wix's help page on AI credits says new Premium plans include credits, that Premium credits renew monthly and do not roll over, and that free plans get a limited number of credits each day, up to 120 a month. Check the Symphony pricing page for what your plan covers.
The payment question is separate. Wix Payments and Stripe are how your customers pay you. The Link wallet for agents is for purchases an agent makes on your behalf, so deciding on one is a separate choice from the other.
Wix is a sensible home for many sites, and this feature is no reason to leave it. The aim is to match the feature to the job.
When is it better to keep the checkout step human?
Keep the final click yourself when purchases are rare, large, custom or legally sensitive. An agent saves time on repeatable orders with clear rules, such as the same supplies each month. It saves little on a one-off that needs your judgment.
If you only buy something twice a quarter, approving it manually in Link takes about the same effort as asking an agent to do it. In that case, leave the feature off and revisit it when the volume justifies it.

What can a custom-built site do differently?
Wix's agent works inside Wix and Link. If your business needs more than one controlled purchase, such as several approvers, inventory rules, invoice matching, an audit record or a payment flow built around how you work, a site built for you can connect agents and payments on your own terms.
That means you choose the rules, the logging and the permissions, and you test them before any money moves. It is a larger project than switching on a feature, so it only pays off when the volume or the risk justifies it.
If you are weighing platforms more broadly, see switching website builders, and for the build-or-hire question, building your own website with AI or hiring.

The Bottom Line
Turn it on only if you can name the card, the approver and the kind of purchase. Read every approval screen, since Stripe's terms put the result on you. Begin with one small order, check the records, and keep the checkout human for anything unusual.
The current limit is the single purchase you approve. A one-time budget is planned, so decide again when it ships. Wix AI credits are a separate question from payments, and your customer checkout is not affected.

Frequently Asked Questions About wix ai agent payments stripe
Can Symphony by Wix make purchases?
Yes. With Link connected, Symphony can complete approved purchases such as inventory, supplier invoices and registration fees. You review and approve each one first.
Does the agent see my card number?
No. Wix and Stripe describe a one-time-use card or Shared Payment Token tied to the approved purchase, so the agent does not receive your underlying card details.
Can I set a daily or monthly spending cap?
Today the cap is the approved amount on each purchase. Wix describes approving a budget once as a planned change. For a daily or monthly limit now, use the limits on the funding card.
What if the checkout amount changes?
A changed total or a new shop needs a new approval, so read the new amount before you say yes.
Who is responsible if the agent buys the wrong thing?
Stripe's terms make the user responsible for actions started through an AI agent. Contact the merchant for a refund first, then use Stripe's dispute process if the transaction was unauthorized, defective or not carried out as approved.
Where is this available?
Wix announced it for Symphony users with a US-based Link account, with payments in US dollars, rolling out gradually.
